Nashville to Deadwood Part II

Following up on my first video,  I've published my second of three short features on our trip from Nashville, TN to Deadwood, SD.    This part below captures the drive from St. Joseph, MO to Sioux Falls, SD.

Normally, we would've done  St Joseph to Deadwood in one day as the journey is only 10 hours long.  However, due to the terrible and worsening weather, we elected to cut the trip into two days and get to the eastern edge of South Dakota before night fall.

Our trip took us through the western edge of Missouri and up along the border of Iowa and Nebraska. To say that the roads were treacherous would be an understatement.  We spent the majority of our time on the interstate going 45-50 MPH/85-95 Km/h, well below the actual speed limit.  Traffic was few and far between as you'll see in the video.

A screen shot from the road; it was pretty much like this the entire seven hours.

By the time we hit Sioux Falls, South Dakota, we had been on the road for seven hours; nearly three hours behind the estimated arrival time had we been able to drive at the actual speed limit.   Despite the setback, we made it safely and without incident.

Enjoy!
